With this piece I start a new series about disinformation. In this case the source is an article from a right-wing newspaper about what is happening right now in Spain [brief explanation in English at Boing Boing].

The protests are quite disjointed and I don’t trust in any kind of mass discourse, but in any case I agree with the main problem, which is that we live in an economic dictatorship handle by two political parties (not only in Spain, of course).

Right Works of Wrong Minutes

This piece was made for the call Broadcasting For Reels: Success Through Failure and was selected for this audio art broadcast by the Centre of Art Tapes.

The original archive was a screen capture of the Call for Submission published in the Center for Art Tapes web page. The sound is not edited or modified in any sense, I just changed the resolution of the image from 72 to 300dpi (for length reasons) and then I opened the image in an audio editor. The resulting sound track is just noise because in fact is not sound, strictly speaking —we are listening to an image of a text, but we are not able to see it or read it, it contains a message that we are not able to decode.

This is just an experiment, but I guess that all I do are just experiments. I don’t see any of this as works of ‘art’ or whatever, more as thoughts and feelings. The idea behind this is the machine, the noise of the machine and the pollution of the machine, so the sound is not really friendly, maybe is even unpleasant, I’m not sure. Perhaps I’d say that it’s something between noise and dark ambient, but I don’t trust very much in labels and I don’t like to talk much about what I do.
