En 2006, una de mis primas estaba viviendo en Escocia, trabajando de profesora, y cuando fui a visitarla me regaló un jotter (bloc). Aunque jotter es una palabra que creo que se usa en general en toda Gran Bretaña, en este caso se trataba de un cuadernillo rojo ‘genérico’ que le daban en el colegio a todos los alumnos.
En aquella época, yo tenía en la cabeza escribir una novela hecha a partir de fragmentos de otras novelas, y pensé que aquel jotter era una buena excusa para empezar a copiar fragmentos de aquí y allá. Aunque hay alguna cosa que otra ligeramente retocada, todo el texto consta exclusivamente de pedazos de otros libros (ficción, ensayo y poesía) y de alguna que otra canción, escogidos de manera bastante automática. Los nombres de los personajes también son machiembrados, a excepción del del protagonista, obviamente –en honor a la escritura limitada (littérature à contraintes).
No sé si el resultado es un remix, un cut & paste analógico, un cut up, un collage o… En cualquier caso, es un experimento.
Si a alguien le da por leerlo, se agradecen correcciones :) ¡Aunque lo he repasado decenas de veces seguramente se me ha escapado alguna cosilla!
